What do the STARS mean? Farms listed on the website are designated with one, two or three stars. One star designates a farm located in one of the five Southern Maryland counties. Two stars indicates that a farms has officially pledged to be a participant in the program. This means that farms have signed a SMSG agreement promising to predominantly sell only their own, or Southern Maryland produced/harvested products. Three stars indicate that a farm has met the following criteria: • Farms support Southern Maryland's regional agricultural community by actively featuring SMSG logo • Farms make a commitment to produce and sell only the highest quality product • Farms have signed a SMSG agreement promising to predominantly sell only their own, or Southern Maryland produced/harvested products
